This is a very rare and limited wood available to a few. It is harvested with the approval of three international auditing and certification organizations at a limited rate of just one tree from every two acres within a span of 25 years.

There are several trees per acre at different ages, but you will cut only one, usually a tree with an average of 60 to 70 years, and only return to the area 25 years later. This way, you let nature develop the siblings naturally without impacting the natural forest and its elements. 

This explains its exclusivity and sustainability and why only a handful of homes or spaces can have this product in a year. Its bending strength is 25,200 psi, higher than a high-quality Ipe’s. Its hardness is 2,820 lbs, about 85% as hard as Ipe and more than twice as hard as oak. Compared to other high-quality tropical hardwoods in the current market, it’s considered a more friendly installation. It is highly durable for exterior applications and resistant to water, insect attacks, mold, and rot.

Mayan Ruby™ has excellent dimensional stability and exhibits minimal movement after being manufactured. As a properly kiln-dried material, it has low shrinkage and minimal checking, ensuring that the deck surface will be just right for you and will last beautifully for many years.
